100 Word Challenge Haiku

Robert, over at $30 A Week Habit, put together a contest -- Use 100 words in a post featuring the five cards you were sent. Alright, so here's my entry... using Haiku.

                                                           Locker room trouble
                                                          Stood up against Durocher
                                                          Bobo was avenged!
                                                          All time wins leader
                                                         Will never be another
                                                         No Cy Young for Cy.

                                                        Another green shard
                                                       Now down to fifteen needed
                                                       Complete by year's end?

                                                        Princess Grace, ice queen
                                                       Stole many hearts, froze others
                                                       Forget the rumors.

                                                       Nancy, queen of clubs
                                                      Female athlete of the year
                                                      Clever Panini.

                                                     Thought outside of box
                                                     What a wonderful contest
                                                     Many thanks, Robert!

    1. Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. You really did come up with a great idea for a contest, and hopefully everyone else thinks so too.

  2. My 100 words
    Won't be so neatly arranged.
    Kudos to you, sir.

    1. Jim, you really made my weekend with that one. I'm sure yours will be great. And I believe I'm safe in saying, that you have left the most neatly arranged comment that I have ever received, and possibly that anybody else has ever received as well!

  3. I loathed haikus when they forced us to do them in school. This though, this is cool!

    1. Thanks for the compliment, it really means a lot! This was the first time I had ever tried to write a Haiku, so taking that into consideration, I was pretty happy with how they turned out.

  4. You beat me to the haikus! I'll have to think of something else. :-)

    1. I can't tell if you're being facetious or not. But I did have a feeling that I wasn't going to be the only one to think of doing them, so I really tried to get tried to get this post out there as soon as I could. I'm sure what ever you come up with will be good too, and I will look forward to reading it, as I am with everyone's as well.

  5. That post wasn't queens. It was aces.

    1. Thank you for the compliment! I was really proud of this post, so it's nice to see that a few other people were able to enjoy it as well.
